Proclaimers of the Word (Lectors)

The Word of God proclaimed in the Mass is a living Word with power to nourish and transform both those who proclaim it and those who hear it. Service to the parish as a Proclaimer of the Word (Lector) is rooted in the text; those who publicly proclaim the readings must know and understand what they are announcing to the congregation. Here are some basic requirements for serving as Proclaimer of the Word: prayer, practice, preparation. If you would like to serve the parish as a lector, please contact the parish office or speak to a member of the pastoral staff.
